Today we are going to see the GREAT Baltimore Orioles play the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. Although the game isn't until 1:30 this afternoon, we are heading out at 9:30 this morning. First we have to get gas and dog food. Yes, dog food! They are collecting pet food today at the game for some charity. We are then driving to Lakeland to the home of our friends Bob and Jane Lemley. Then we will ride to St. Pete with them and enjoy the game with two other O's fans.
The Orioles are the first place team in the AL East, 8.5 games ahead of the second place team, the NY Yankees. And STILL we could NOT beat the Rays, in next to last place, 14 games behind us, in the past two games. The Rays really seem to have our number. Maybe today will be different. I'd love to see them win and hate to see the Rays sweep us in this series.
Tonight we will get back to town around 7, have dinner at Denny's, and get home by 8 to pack for tomorrow's cruise! We will leave our house at 7 a.m. to drive to the Miami port. The Carnival Ecstasy sails away at 4:30 for Key West and Cozumel. We will be back Friday morning. I am taking my laptop to upload pictures, but I probably won't write any blogs this week. I can check email and FB on my cell phone on Tuesday in Key West! That's always fun.
Friday Mark got his tires and wheel alignment as planned. That went well, although it's a good thing we had two cars. They didn't get it done very quickly, but we drove away and left it to do our other errands. Yesterday we went to shul and pool. Pool was only an hour because another big afternoon thunderstorm rolled in. Haha! What else is new in Florida at this time of year?
I weighed in this morning and it was 263.4, hovering in the same range, but then I'm not doing anything to change that. I will weigh in tomorrow morning for an official weight, but I doubt if I'll have time to report it in a blog.
Also Mark's editorial to the Lakeland Ledger about federal employees was published in this week's issue! He didn't even know until some friends contacted him. Bob Lemley sent it to him in an email and also posted a link to it on FB. Our neighbor Ken actually gave us his copy of the newspaper, so we can see it in actual black and white print. Thanks, Ken!
I hope everyone has a great time today.
