I lost 105 lbs. for surgery and a healthier future, hoped writing this blog would help me stay focused. The slideshow shows me from my highest of 322 pounds down to 211 pounds. Since my retirement and cancer diagnosis, weight has crept back. I focused on the cancer in 2010-11. Well, now it's Spring of 2015 and I have regained almost all the weight, back up to 284. I guess I should change the title to Weight Loss Journey AGAIN.

Nothing's really free.
We were not able to get our free Denny's Grand Slam Breakfast yesterday after all. We finished some shopping at Target and drove the 10 minute drive to Denny's in 35 long minutes. The roads were horrible, lanes giving out in random places. We finally arrived at Denny's only to find the parking lot PACKED!! We go to Denny's for dinner almost once a week and usually find maybe four or five cars tops. Yesterday we knew it was going to be crowded when we could barely find a parking spot. We got lucky, parked, and carefully walked over the ice to the entrance. Stunned is the word I would use to describe my feelings. The place had such a huge crowd of people milling in the tiny lobby that it looked like two or three tour buses had just dropped off their passengers! There seemed to be no organization at all, but one nice gentleman informed us that the wait was estimated at one hour. It was 1 p.m. at that point and the free meal was over by 2 p.m. We went right back home. Free eggs and pancakes were NOT worth an hour wait for us, although it seemed to be for the other hundred people in there! Wow, did anyone get that free meal without waiting?

I follow Dennys on Twitter and saw some of the photos that they tweeted of the huge crowds of people.
