I lost 105 lbs. for surgery and a healthier future, hoped writing this blog would help me stay focused. The slideshow shows me from my highest of 322 pounds down to 211 pounds. Since my retirement and cancer diagnosis, weight has crept back. I focused on the cancer in 2010-11. Well, now it's Spring of 2015 and I have regained almost all the weight, back up to 284. I guess I should change the title to Weight Loss Journey AGAIN.

Sitting Shiva
This long odyssey of a trip began on August 5 when we drove to Charlotte, NC to attend the b'nei mitzvah of Mark's cousin Lisa's children, Ariel and Steven. Sadly, today we are ending our trip sitting shiva for Lisa at her house with her husband Allen, the two children, her brother and his wife, and her parents, Mark's Aunt Esther and Uncle Pinky.
Lisa was a great support to me through Facebook and emails when I was diagnosed and fighting breast cancer. About the time I finished my chemo, she was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. Unfortunately, the tumor was inoperable. Lisa bravely tried multiple courses of chemo and also radiation, but the cancer had spread to the bone and the brain. She made it to her children's big simcha and to her 50th birthday. Lisa passed away at home the day after Evey's wedding.
Lisa was a strong and loving women who will be missed terribly by all who knew her.
