We had good news/bad news about the wet wallboard in the shower yesterday. Turns out the other bathroom isn't leaking! Yay, that's the good news. The grout in the old shower was leaking basically forever, and the drain pipe in the shower floor was broken in two, apparently all done when the house was built. The concrete in the shower was completely wet, even up under the floor tiles. They ripped out the board they put up yesterday and then tore up about two more inches of concrete in the floor of the shower, re-poured the concrete, installed a new drain pipe, and put up new wall board.
Mark and I spent hours at Lowe's and Home Depot with Mr. Handy (Carlos), buying up all the tiles and grout we need. The shower is going to look amazing. When they left last night, the contrast tiles are in the niche and half the shower has the wall tiles up. Gorgeous! We also bought the new toilet and a new door handle for the screen door on the lanai. Busy, productive day.
This morning they are returning at 8 a.m. because Mark and I have to head up to The Palms by 9 for our next to last rehearsal for The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge. It's hard to believe that tomorrow is already opening night. Wow!
Now for the weigh-in report. I weighed 236.5 this morning! I'm pleased with that because it's a loss of 1.8 pounds for the week. Things are going well.
This week has just one small challenge, and that is today because it will be our final trek over to the Food and Wine Festival. This time it will be dinner before we head to the synagogue for a choir rehearsal tonight. It's going to be a busy day since we have the dress rehearsal from 9 to noon, home for a quick lunch, up to the gym for weight lifting, off to the comic book store for two weeks worth of books, and then over to Epcot! Busy days mean more calories burned and less time to sit around thinking about snacking. This is the only meal that we will eat out all week, so I can only guess that this will be an excellent week to lose another two pounds. That's a good thing because once Thanksgiving week comes it's going to get crazy with three sets of company and two cruises. I'm a little concerned about what my weight will look like by January 5 when we get off that second cruise. Well, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. If I have to lose the same weight again, then I will. Hahaha! It's not like I haven't done that before!
