Happy Hanukkah, it begins tonight.

One present that I've already opened is a brand new scale from my sister Flyn.  I asked her for it because my old one couldn't seem to settle down on a number the last few times I used it.  I would stand there, and it would just keep flipping around random numbers, most all far too low to be accurate.  This scale is fast and probably far more accurate.  I know it's not Wednesday, but this morning I was 262.5 on this new scale.  That's three pounds up from the report after the cruise, but then that one was from the old scale as it was dying.  I feel confident that this one is accurate.

It has been COLD here lately.  We went to Universal Studios Saturday afternoon and evening and FROZE!  The wind chill just made us miserable.  We really enjoyed everything we saw, though.  We saw four new shows and two new parades!  The afternoon parade was new to us because we hadn't seen it in so long that we didn't remember it.  The evening parade with the big Macy's balloons was totally new!  We had great seats and could marvel over the size of those things.  The rest of the parade was a tribute to many Universal Studios popular animated films like Shrek, Madagascar, and Despicable Me.  We also saw Beat Builders, the Blues Brothers Christmas Show, the Wizarding World Christmas Show singers, and Mannheim Steamroller, which is the other reason we went on that date.

Last Thursday I directed the Cove Singers in their holiday concert.  It was their best one yet.  I say that every year, but every year they keep getting better!

Yesterday I hosted Mah Jongg at my house and won three games, breaking a long losing streak.  Then we went to Epcot.  We had 1 p.m. lunch reservation at Rose and Crown for the Candlelight Processional package.  The show was at 8:15, so in between we had time for three of our favorite attractions and lots of time to rest and nap.  The lunch was so HUGE that we were in a carb coma for hours afterwards.  Ridiculous.  But delicious!

Today we are going to see the new Disney Pixar film, Coco.  Then we have the Cove Singers holiday party, and menorah lighting up at the Village Center tonight.  Then presents!  I certainly had a lot of fun buying and wrapping presents for everyone.  Evey's and Eric's big box was shipped last week and should arrive today or tomorrow.  Lowell, Emily, and Cindy's will be taken up north with us when we get on the auto train Thursday for a Hanukkah party at Cindy's house Saturday night and then Rabbi Saul's installation on Sunday.  Fun times coming up!

Annual pass holders volunteer to carry the balloons.  We've never done it, but maybe someday.

Mannheim Steamroller is an annual favorite.
