The Show was a HIT!

Yesterday was a long day. At 8:30 a.m. we were out in the cold, blustery weather buying flowers for the show's director/writers. We were at shul by 9:45 a.m., expecting a rehearsal. That never happened. It took them right up to 12 noon just to set up the sound system and the stage. At noon they started selling tickets and pizza lunches. Our show started promptly at 1 p.m.

The audience loved it. This shul is not used to shows like this! They have never had a Purim Schpiel, so it was truly a hit.

There was a cast party when it was over at the home of the director/choreographer/writer. We hung out there for a few hours and watched the rough-cut video of the show. The fun thing was watching all the kids. There were many kids in the show. We all sat around the TV, all the kids Indian-style on the floor, and watched the show. The kids just had a blast, singing all the songs, applauding for everything, and having a lovely day. It was a pleasure to watch that.

When we got home at 6:30 p.m., we were exhausted! It was fun, but tiring. Wow! I know they will expect us to do this next year again, but right now I don't know if we will. Those twice-a-week, night time rehearsals are just very hard. Of course, that's the way any show goes. All that work to get it ready and then when it's over, you say, "Wow, where did the time go? That was fun." When you are slogging out at night for a 7 p.m. rehearsal, you say, "Why am I doing this? I'm never doing this again!" LOL!!

Today is Errand Day: AAA for a discount ticket to a dinner show for Mark and Rudy tomorrow night, cancer center to drop off a prescription renewal, BJ's for sugar-free hamantaschen, SuperTarget for kosher steaks. That might not sound like too much, but the Target is an hour north of here, so there's a lot of driving involved. I have to be at the Starliter rehearsal at 6 tonight, and it will go until about 9:30. Another long day, but another great one.
