Good days; Good friends

We had a leisurely day Friday, talking to Kip, taking a walk, doing a bit of last minute shopping, and having a nice Shabbat dinner together.

Saturday was a wonderful day, once we got to shul.  The one hour ten minute drive turned into a one hour and forty-five minute drive due to two accidents along the BW Parkway.  Boy, I sure don't miss these traffic back-ups.  Somehow we usually avoid most of the back-ups in Florida, or if we get caught in one along the WDW routes, we just relax and enjoy the views!

We spent the day with good friends Rudy and Georganne L.  Even Saul and Phyllis, who live in their neighborhood, were able to walk over for a little visit.  George has just finished her chemotherapy, and we have not seen her since she started it.  She looks great.  She lost a lot of weight, but that made her happy.  Wish that had happened to me, but I gained 25 pounds on chemo instead.  Haha!  Of course that's how it would go for me.

Anyway, we had lunch at a noisy sports bar with great food with Rudy and Georganne, but the lunch was so late that we skipped a normal dinner time.  We all had tickets to see the closing night performance of Big River at the Greenbelt Arts Center.  The Larsen's daughter, Jen R., was playing the role of Tom Sawyer and worked as the set designer.  We had never seen the show before, so we really enjoyed it.  Then we went out at 11:30 p.m. for a late night dinner at the Silver Diner.  We got back to Cindy's around 1:30 a.m. and finally got to bed at 2:30 a.m.  Geez, I feel a little too old for those kinds of hours.

Today we are heading over to Lowell's house for lunch and the movie Ironman 3.  It's also Cinco de Mayo.  We found some skinny margarita mix and bought some tequila on Friday.  Tonight Mark will make fish tacos and skinny margaritas for Cinco de Mayo.  Yay!

Happy Cinco de Mayo everybody!
