Disneyland and day one of D23

Yesterday we spent a very long day in Disneyland, and today we had a great start to the D23 convention.

There was a LOT of walking yesterday, so I didn't mind that I ate cheese enchiladas with refried beans and veggies for lunch and a vegetarian gumbo in a sourdough bread bowl for dinner.  I'm sure I walked about four or five miles.  It was one mile just to go from our hotel to the park.  We were there from 7:30 a.m. to nearly 11 p.m.  Talk about tired!

Today we had a delightful time at the D23 convention. It was much better organized than last year.  I heard that I was not the only who complained, in writing, A LOT, last year.  We went to the three big events that we wanted to attend.  The finale to the night was an outstanding concert of Disney on Broadway by five professional Broadway performers who originated some of the roles.

Here are some pictures from Disneyland and D23's Disney on Broadway show.

Here are all five of the performers.

Merle Dandridge was Aida and also Kayla from Tarzan.  She is singing "It's Easy" from Aida here.

Ashley Brown was from Off the Record, the 15th Belle from Beauty and the Beast, and the original Mary Poppins.  Here she was singing "Feed the Birds."

Heidi Blickenstaff was Ursula in Little Mermaid.

Josh Strickland was Tarzan.

Alton Fitzgerald White originated the role of Mustafa in Lion King.
