Cipro

I wrote yesterday that Mark's antibiotic prescription had been ready Friday evening, but he didn't know it until Sunday morning.  We arrived at Publix to pick it up at 10:30 only to find the pharmacy didn't open on Sundays until 11.  So we headed on out to Epcot with plans to pick it up on the way home.

We had a lovely time at Epcot.  We ate exactly what we planned, and we even took the time to go to the Kerrygold butter lecture.  It was a lot of fun; however, as we were driving over there, Mark was very uncomfortable in the car.  He is convinced it is prostatitis because not only urinating is difficult but also just sitting or walking has become uncomfortable.  We decided that going on a bus for nearly an hour and sitting in a restaurant for 7 or 8 courses of unknown foods (all vegetarian, so probably high in carbs) and drinking wine with each course was NOT smart for him right now.  His sugars are still high, so he really didn't need it.  So we decided to take our time at Epcot, send a message that we weren't going on the bus, and be sure we made it back to Publix before they closed for his meds.

We got to Publix at 4:30 and he picked up his 7 day prescription for Cipro.  He's never taken it before, but I list it as an allergy. I took it about 20 years ago for a sinus infection.  I didn't like the dizzy, light-headed, foggy-headed, out-of-it feeling it gave me. I was teaching middle school at the time, so not a good drug to be on in the classroom!  This is a powerful drug with a ton of side effects and restrictions.  The biggest problem is it cannot be taken with dairy. Mark had just been drinking coffee with cream.  So....he had to wait six hours to start the drug.  He took the first one at 11 p.m. last night.  So for seven days he will be on an 11 a.m./11 p.m. schedule with no dairy for breakfast.  If he wants dairy for dinner, he will have to eat at 5 p.m. for dinner.

Because of his discomfort in sitting and peeing, we cancelled out plans to go to Bradenton to a National Park today, also.  He is going to pick up a few non-dairy items at the grocery store and work on some NARFE stuff before Thursday's meeting.  This gives me the opportunity to play Mah Jongg at 1 p.m. with my neighbor ladies!  I missed it last week to spend the day at the Magic Kingdom, so this is going to be fun.

Meanwhile, it is Monday, so the weight must be reported.  Essentially, the same at 266.5. I was actually down a little on Friday, but the weekend found me eating too much, I guess.
