Turning the Corner

Our guest seems to have turned the corner in his illness.  His fever was gone last night.  YAY!  This morning, after 8 doses of Cipro, he is feeling much better.  Certainly, not having a fever makes a person feel more normal.  Before he went to bed, we decided we'd all go out to lunch together today.  This morning when he came out to the kitchen, he asked if we could go to Denny's for breakfast, too.  We declined that offer, but he is going out on his own.  He just left the kitchen to go take a shower, which may be the first since he got sick.  All good signs.

Boy, it was cold last night, going down to 39 outside.  I covered my plant, Treeful, up with a blanket, although the lanai doesn't get as cold as outdoors.  At 7:30 this morning the lanai thermometer read 55.  Our thermostat is set at 68, and this was the first day of the season that the temperature also read 68.  Maybe the heat actually kicked on!

Of course, we can't complain.  We have friends and relatives in the Buffalo, NY area.  Mark's cousin Nancy posted lots of pictures of the snow at her house, nearing 6 feet last night after snowing all day long.  Now THEY have reason to complain.  I hope they are all okay.

Meanwhile, our friends from Massachusetts did meet us for lunch yesterday.  We had a great time.  My mani/pedi was cancelled because my stylist was sick, so I just stayed and chatted with our friends for a few extra hours.  It was a lot of fun.  The book lecture was great, as always, and we also really enjoyed the lecture at the Travel Club and even met a couple from Laurel, MD who had just moved to Solivita.  So much fun!
