Great three days

Our stay at Bay Lake Towers was fabulous.  We had a studio overlooking the pool and Bay Lake, high up on the 14th floor.  Sitting on the balcony for breakfasts and lunches was just magnificent.  We ate both dinners out (The Wave in the Contemporary Saturday night and Gasparillo's Grille at the Grand Floridian Sunday) and lunch today at the pool bar at BLT.  All three meals out were outstanding.
The convention itself was excellent.  All day Saturday was about the four exhibits that Walt Disney and his crew had at the World's Fair: Magic Skyway (Ford cars on a track going through a look at history, including dinosaurs that are now on the railroad in Disneyland), It's a Small World (sponsored by Pepsi and moved to Disneyland, now in EVERY Disney park); Carousel of Progress (sponsored by GE, originally moved to Disneyland and then to WDW where it still is); and Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln (sponsored by the state of Illinois and now in Disneyland).  Four magnificent attractions!  It was fascinating to hear from the people who created them and see "making of" pictures.

All day Sunday was about various rides and attractions in CA and FL that are now gone.  Mark and I knew some of them, but many came and went before we ever saw them!

We also had some time to enjoy the pool on Monday before heading home.

Tonight we are busily doing laundry and packing for the trip to Seattle.  We are leaving the house at 4 a.m. for a flight out at 7 a.m.  It will be great fun to see Kip and Denise's new house.  Also we get Lowell on Wednesday and Eric and Evey on Thursday.  I am taking my computer on the trip and should be able to write blogs and keep up with Facebook.  And, of course, there will be pictures!
View from the 14th floor at Bay Lake Towers.  That's actually Bay Lake there.

Enjoying the balcony and the view.

Frozen Gingerbread scene in the Contemporary Resort.

Watching the fireworks at Magic Kingdom from the top of Bay Lake Tower. The castle is the blue thing on the left.  This shows how far the fireworks are from the castle, but if you are on Main Street, they seem to be right behind it.

Very nice kitchenette in the studio

In the ride vehicle for Snow White's Scary Adventures, which has been gone for several years.

Me and the Orange Bird

Mark in the Mr. Toad's Wild Ride vehicle, gone from WDW but still in Disneyland.

Mark watching the Water Pageant at the end of the Contemporary dock.  BLT on the right of pic.

This morning at the pool.

Yeah, those are my toes!
