Fun Friday with Barbara

Our Thursday went great, exactly as planned.  Friday was also fabulous!  I planned to spend the morning getting the house ready for Barb's visit.  Mark went to the library to work 1-4, we usually do.  I headed over to pick Barb up at the Gaylord Palms.  I got her about 1:30 and took her straight to the Boggy Creek Airboat Ride.  That is my all time favorite thing to do with company.  The thirty minute ride is always a thrill.  I never know which direction they will go or what we will see.  This time we headed to the right, past the lock and cattle.  We saw two smallish alligators in the reeds, lots of ducks and anhingas, Great Blue herons, Great White Egrets, cattle egrets, moor hens, and a bald eagle.  It was a great day on Lake Toho with perfect weather.  I also achieved my objective of getting a picture of Barb holding the baby alligator.  It was Poseidon again, which is the same one that the Rosens held last February.  He is a bit bigger now!  He'll probably be retired soon from that gig.

We had a lovely Cornbread Topped Chicken Enchilada Casserole from the crockpot. Mark outdid himself on this dinner.  He also made fabulous margaritas for us, and we had pita chips and hummus for appetizers with the margaritas.  Great Shabbat dinner with a great friend!  We just wished Barb could have stayed longer and that Ron would come down sometime with him.

We left the house this morning at 5:50 a.m. to take her to the airport and got back shortly before 8 a.m.  We are now having breakfast and watching cartoons.  I think I'll be taking a nap soon!
