Stupid Phone

I have to retract some of the nasty things I wrote about the primary care doctor's office yesterday.  Apparently the office called in an antibiotic to Publix less than an hour after we left their office on Friday.  Unfortunately, Mark's phone often doesn't ring, and he did not see any notification that he had a voicemail until this morning. He saw one from Publix, which he thought was the same one he'd been getting concerning picking up some routine prescriptions he doesn't really need or want.  Then he noticed a voicemail that came in Friday at 4:07 p.m. from the doctor saying a prescription had been called in to Publix.  The call said they noticed some things in his urine (Yeah, so did we!), so they called in an antibiotic.

So then Mark and I had an argument this morning over his lack of attention to his phone.  I know his phone is pretty busted after falling off the car roof. It often doesn't get a signal when mine does, and the two phones are identical in every way except for the massive cracks on his.  His calls often go straight to voicemail.  I am irritated with him that he didn't check to look for a call from his doctor when he was EXPECTING it!!  He said he has the notification number of 41 voicemails, so he wouldn't notice if it went to 42.  Ridiculous. If you are expecting an important call and bitching about not getting it, LOOK for it!!

I am not only frustrated with him this morning but also angry that he could have been on these antibiotics since Friday evening. I'm sure the doctor's office thinks he went on them Friday evening.

GRRRRRR!!  Well, today we will go to Publix and get prescriptions.   Also on a good note, his blood sugar was only 206 this morning, so he was happy.  That's the lowest it's been in a long time.  Maybe his body is actually fighting the infection by itself.  That could happen.  Anyway, he has no definitive diagnosis, but I guess the doctor feels the antibiotics will clear up whatever ails him.
Then we are going to Epcot for lunch at the Food and Wine Festival for our third time.  Lunch will be the veggie haggis from Scotland, tuna poke from Hawaii for Mark and vegan chicken from Terra for me, and maybe something from Puerto Rico.  We were going to get those things last week, but we switched up and went the other way around the lake eating at Patagonia, Singapore, and Italy instead.

We have to hurry out of there quickly because tonight we have a big wine pairing dinner event with a synagogue lady who runs this as a Relay for Life event every fall.  This year they are doing it in a new restaurant in Clermont.  We are all going on a bus together out of Hunter's Creek at 4:30.  They even do an all vegetarian wine pairing menu for those who request it.  This is our third year at this event.  It's always been delicious and fun.
