Happy Hanukkah and Happy Anniversary

I'm going to get the bad news out of the way first.  I weigh 274, up 2.3 since last Monday.  I had three dinners out this week, but even one lunch and dinner at home (Walt's chili) included way more calories than necessary.

Okay, moving on to the good news.  Yesterday was our 39th wedding anniversary.  Mark really surprised me with a beautiful ring set, three rings and one has a Mickey head on it.  Each ring has a secret message engraved inside: Dream, Wish, Believe.  So cool.  I was stunned. In return, he got a card from me.  LOL!  Well, actually he's going to get a present either today or tomorrow.

We also had the Shalom Club Hanukkah Ball last night.  Mark and I were on the committee, although we only attended one meeting because of our crazy travel schedule.  We made the Texas Hold'em Dreidel bags to give away on each table plus six extras.  All were taken away by people to play with at home, so I guess that was a success.  No one played with them at their tables like we thought, but at least they all went home with someone.  The ballroom was gorgeous!  This year Solivita had decorated the whole thing for the holiday season using all blues and white. How perfect for Hanukkah.

Today we are celebrating our anniversary in style by checking into the Villas at the Grand Floridian for two nights.  So we are slogging through Disney parks for three straight days in the Christmas crowds.  Crazy, but that's what happens when your anniversary is December 21.  In the past we have gone over for a night in January when Florida resident rates make the rooms cheap.  This year we are using our DVC points, so we are right in the thick of things.

Epcot today, Magic Kingdom tomorrow, and whatever we like on Wednesday.  We have Fast passes for rides today and tomorrow and a reservation for dinner tonight in The Land at the Garden Grill restaurant.  We also are attending a 3 p.m. DVC Member Meet and Greet and will get a special ornament.  We are even staying for Illuminations because it's special for the holidays. Tomorrow we will see Elsa and Anna light up the castle, watch the special Christmas parade, and stay for the Holiday Wishes fireworks.  Wednesday we will hang out at some park and then have the fancy DVC Member special Christmas Eve dinner at the Contemporary before heading home.  Three full days of Disney magic!

I'm not sure I'll be writing blogs while we are gone. I might be too tired.  We shall see.

Meanwhile Happy Hanukkah for the last two nights.  Have a great holiday season.
