Day of Giving

Today is the Day of Giving sponsored by ABC TV and Disney.  Mark and I both used our phones to text a $10 donation.  All you need to do, using any cell phone carrier, is text to 90999 and put ABC in the message.  You will get a reply saying you have just made a $10 donation, which will show up on your next phone bill.  That's it!  You don't need to give a credit card or anything.  You can also call it in or do it online.  If you call in, a celebrity will talk to you!  This is going on all day to raise money for the relief of Sandy's victims.  I encourage everyone to give something to this effort.  The money goes to the Red Cross to be used for their disaster relief fund.

To kick it all off, Disney has jump-started the Day of Giving with a two million dollar donation.  And..Samsung has pledged to match the donations from today up to THREE million dollars.  Amazing.

After Katrina's devastation, who would have thought the country would have to do this kind of immense fund-raising for hurricane damage in the northeast?  It's crazy.  And they are going to get hit with a classic Nor'easter in the middle of this week. People without heat are freezing!  It's insane.  I cannot stop thinking about it.

Please give to the American Red Cross today!

Geez, I know I sound like a commercial, but I swear I have not been paid to do this.  LOL!!  After all, I sing the commercial jingles in the radio drama!  Tonight's our last night.  Wow! It's been so much fun.

The show has been videotaped, every show except Saturday's, and I've heard we can get copies of it.  There have also been lots of people taking pictures.  Today, since it's our last show, I'm taking my camera. I'll snap a few shots of everyone backstage and after the show.  Then I can post some tomorrow on the blog and maybe on Facebook.  Stay tuned.

Have a wonderful Monday, a good start to a great week, and make a donation to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief fund for those in Sandy's wake.  PLEASE, make it today on the Day of Giving!
