One Car, Two Car, Old Car, New Car

Did any of you every read One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss?  Then you get the reference in my title!

Yesterday, Mark's car, which is 10 years old with 108,000 miles on it, died on the way home from the car repair shop!  Oh, the irony. Last week he had to pay $300 to repair the trunk latch.  It was an expensive part and hard to replace.  Then on the way home from THAT repair, we noticed a horrible noise.  Crazy.  We didn't drive the car for a few days, and then we he started it up, the noise was less.  Still, the car had been loud and running not at all nicely like mine for a long time.  Plus the latch for the HOOD fell off!  So off we went again to the repair shop to have the hood latch repaired and try to find out the reason for the noises.  Hood latch was an easy repair but the noise was the motor mounts.  It was over $600 for the motor mounts.  They called and said we could get it, so off we went around 11:30 yesterday morning to pick it up.  It didn't make it home.

I was a few miles ahead of him in my car, so I was quite surprised to get a phone call as I was approaching our house saying the car had just died about a mile from the entrance to Solivita.  Crazy.

He called AAA, and they came in just over an hour.  The car has been towed back to the repair shop. I was hoping it was something they did with the motor mount and wouldn't cost anything.  No, it was the timing belt, another $400.  Geez.

At this point, Mark has decided to do this repair, bring the car home, and go car shopping in about a month.  Enough is enough.
