Solar Eclipse Day!

The solar eclipse marched across the entire USA creating a swath of totality about 70 miles wide and going from Portland, OR to Charleston, SC.  WOW!

We had to cancel that trip to Charleston because I couldn't cope with it after the tooth extraction.  We got about 85% here in Kissimmee.

After winning three games at Mah Jongg in the morning, I set up a "campsite" for us in the driveway with two chairs and a table to hold the iPad to run the live coverage on the TV.  We had our glasses, so we were good to go.

We sat outside about two hours and watched it start, reaching the full level for the area, and then start the retreat.  We cleaned up, went inside, and then four times ran out to watch it ebb away.  Really was a lot of fun even though there wasn't a totality.

Evey got to see 75% briefly from work in San Jose.  Lowell and Emily had a wonderful time in a small town near Columbia, SC.  They even called and talked to me after the totality for about 15 minutes, which I LOVED!

I know the country as a whole really had a great time today!
